Dr. Tira Clay, PhD, MS, LCPC

Human Interaction Experience, LLC

Dr. Tira Harney Clay, Ph.D., is an Applied/Clinical Psychophysiologist specializing in applied psychology, stress physiology, mental health, brain–behavior relationships, and whole-person wellness. She is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor with additional certifications in Christian counseling, integrative and natural health, health coaching, and mental health coaching.

With more than 35 years of senior leadership experience across higher education, behavioral medicine, training and development, and health and wellness, Dr. Clay brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her clinical, scholarly, and educational work. Her areas of interest include neurotherapy, biofeedback, quantitative EEG, neuroregulation, women’s health, neuroendocrine functioning, health disparities, and stress-related conditions.

As a contributing trichology textbook author, Dr. Clay presented “Roots and Resilience: The Hidden Link Between Hair, Stress, and Whole-Person Wellness” at the 2025 Global Beauty & Trichology Symposium. Her research and scholarship address women’s neuroendocrine health, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, trauma, health equity, and disparities in healthcare and clinical research. She is committed to interdisciplinary collaboration, prevention, community education, and advancing equitable whole-person health and wellness.
